The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is Coming Back!!!

In late 2013-2014, it is expected that Jeep will be bringing back the Jeep Grand Wagoneer to reclaim its title as “The Ultimate Wagon”. The Jeep Grand Wagoneer was one of the first four-wheel drive SUVs with a luxurious interior and was produced from 1963 to 1991 with iconic, sturdy styling and unmistakable Jeep engineering.

The Grand Wagoneer, which pioneered the concept of a premium SUV, was introduced in 1962 as a 1963 model and discontinued in 1991. A brief attempt was made to revive this type of Jeep with the unsuccessful and undistinguished Jeep Commander in 2006 under Daimler’s ownership of Chrysler. The new Wagoneer program is early in its development cycle, , but will come to market in late 2014 or earlier. The concept at this point will be similar to the Dodge Durango, with third row seating. Also being considered is the option to have wood paneling on the side, like shown in the picture above.
