Chrysler Wins Top Honors at Texas Truck Rodeo!
The Chrysler Group took the lead once again during the 20th Annual Texas Truck Rodeo, the nation’s largest truck-oriented press event. The event was judged by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) and this year, Chrysler took top honors. For the third time in a row, the Jeep Grand Cherokee was voted “SUV of Texas” by TAWA members. The 2013 Ram 1500 was named this year’s Truck of Texas. All in all, Chrysler took 8 out of the 19 awards given at the event. That’s pretty impressive. In fact, Chrysler took awards for both full-and mid-sized sport utility vehicles as well as for luxury SUV and awards for both full-sized and luxury pickup trucks.
These awards were given with great reason. The newly designed Ram 1500 truck has changed the game for pickup trucks. The Ram has done a complete package overhaul of the 1500 line with improvements, both in the drive train and the entire truck’s chassis and interior components. Other winners at the Rodeo include the 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor for the off-road class, the 2013 Ford F-250 Super Duty in the heavy duty class and the Toyota Tacoma won in the mid-sized truck category. Overall, there were 58 vehicles from Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, Honda, Nissan, Ram and Toyota and more than 150 participants.
